Artist Statement
My artwork is influenced by how to conceptually represent life experiences and emotions. I’m interested in the idea of impermanence – why and how we are continuously changing into the person we are in this exact moment. But, how we often define ourselves by particular moments in our lives. These moments are fleeting, yet shape who we are. This idea of the evolution of personality and how we construct our identities.
I work mostly in the darkroom and experimenting with different alternative processes to create my images. In one of my current ongoing projects, I use just photo paper, sunlight, sand, and ocean water to create abstract, cosmic like images. The images flow from one to another, some more abrupt than others, the same way seconds, minutes, and days flow together, each one different from the last.
